Meet Jess
Hi I'm Jess, and I want to share a little about myself and my journey into fitness and transforming my life.
Rewind 6 years, and I was working in a 9/6 office job in London. I spent two hours a day commuting back and forth, and I genuinely lived for the weekend. I used to get this feeling of low level anxiety and dread on a Sunday night, as I realised I had another five days of surviving the treadmill of life I found myself on.
I used to think to myself "is this it?" and look back on all the dreams and ideas of life I had as a teenager. I couldn't face the idea of living like this for the rest of my life.
I had a diet that mostly consisted of snacks, junk foods and anything that was quick and easy to shove down before I got back to work or collapsed on the sofa in the evening.
I wasn't exercising at all; in fact, I was hardly moving. I'd sit down for 8 hours in the office, sit down on the train back home, then plonk on the sofa exhausted. I started getting out of shape and out of breath every time I ran 15 seconds to catch the train.
I was coasting through life. Not reaching my potential, not feeling fulfilled, feeling sluggish and frustrated.
My job wasn't my dream, it just paid the bills. But I couldn't see a way out.
I was anxious and my mental health was seriously suffering. I found myself ruminating on worse case scenarios, plaguing my mind with "what ifs" and irrational thoughts. My mind would go round in circles and I had no control over it. It was exhausting and I started to feel depressed and hopeless.
One evening on the way back from work, with the horrible train lights giving me a headache and the packed trains pushing me to my limits, I thought to myself "I'm not living. I'm dying inside and I cannot live my life like this".
I started working out regularly, getting myself into shape and feeling stronger and fitter. I got therapy and worked through what was going on mentally. I wanted to know all there was to know about fitness and mental health, and went on a journey to transform my life, wellbeing and find fulfilment and happiness again.
I can honestly say that taking that first step and doing my first workout was the biggest step and it changed my life. I felt good in my body and my confidence came back. I started demanded more for myself and I ended up quitting my underpaid and overworked lifestyle and starting my dream fitness business.
I felt a relationship that wasn't right for me, worked on my mental health and now honestly feel like anything is posisble.
Now I understand my true purpose.
I want to share my secret with others, to help YOU transform your life and fulfil your purpose. Your health is your biggest asset and it is a starting point of life transformation that seeps into every other aspect of your life.
